Olympiad

From January 26 to 28, 2024, Pigeon Sports Federation NPO will organize the 38th Olympiad in Maastricht (The Netherlands). During the Olympiad, MECC Maastricht will host various activities such as the Olympiad Exhibition, a trade fair, the FCI Congress, a Veterinary Conference and many award ceremonies, including the honoring of champions of World Best Pigeon, Sport and Standard Class Olympiad. A varied program with something for everyone.

On this website, all information about the fair, exhibition, award ceremonies, party night and other activities can be found. The website is updated regularly and will be provided with the latest information.

Olympiad accessibility

Olympiad 2024 will take place at MECC Maastricht, Forum 100, 6229 GV Maastricht. MECC Maastricht is easily accessible by car or public transportation.

• By car
  MECC Maastricht is located on the A2 and N278 motorways. There is ample (paid) parking space around MECC Maastricht. Buy your parking ticket in advance via this link and receive 3,- discount on the daily rate. Parking at MECC costs €4 per hour with a maximum rate of €19 per calendar day.
   
• Public transport (within the Netherlands)
  Do you prefer to travel to the MECC by public transport? There are special NS-Olympiade train tickets available that allow you to travel economically from any NS station in the Netherlands to Maastricht Central Station and back. Between Maastricht Central Station and MECC Maastricht there is a free shuttle bus for visitors to the Olympiad.
   
• Public transport (from abroad)
  • From Liege, you can travel via a direct connection to Maastricht Randwyck station. This station is only a 5-minute walk from the MECC.
  • If you travel by train from France, you can use the direct Eurostar connection between Paris and Liège. Then from Liège you travel directly to Maastricht Randwyck, near MECC Maastricht.
  • From Germany, the best way to reach Maastricht is via Venlo or Liège. This requires several transfers.

Please note: it is NOT possible to travel from Maastricht Central to Maastricht Randwyck with the special NS ticket. If you prefer to travel on to this station, which is a 5-minute walk from MECC, you will need to buy an additional (Arriva) train ticket .
